If you live anywhere near Miami (or are looking for an excuse to take a trip) you won’t want to miss the 2016 Seed Food and Wine Festival. The Seed Food and Wine Festival is an event full of fun, flavor, and family-friendly activities. Whether you’re a diehard plant-based aficionado, a newbie looking to dip your toe into the vegan waters, or you’re somewhere in between, this is the event for you!

The event takes place November 2-6, 2016 in Miami. Here are four awesome reasons to attend:

Four Reasons To Drop Everything And Attend The Seed Food And Wine Festival

Learn, Interact, and Taste Food from the Best of the Best!

Not only will you have the opportunity to hear from plant-based celebrities, but you will also have the opportunity to taste their food! Sample some of the world’s best plant-based food in the Tasting Village on Saturday (11/5). Speakers and demonstrators include Rip Esselstyn, Rich Roll, Julie Piatt, John Salley, and many more.

I can hear you wine enthusiasts screaming at me now, “what good is a food and wine festival without wine?!” Fear not, they’ve got you covered! In addition to great food, the Seed Food and Wine Festival is a go-to destination for great wine and spirits. Did you know NBA champion John Salley is the founder of the Vegan Wine Company? It’s true!

Battles and Wars

Don’t worry, no one is going to be chucking brussel sprouts at anyone in some kind of ultimate food fight, but what better way to find the non-dairy “cream of the crop” than to have an intense battle to see who wears the crown?! You will not want to miss the Veggie Burger Battle on Thursday (11/3), as restaurants and celebrity chefs from around the country battle it out to see who reigns as king of the veggie burger! This is definitely a vote you’re not going to want to miss. The toughest part might be deciding which burger is the best! Oh, and by the way…there’s beer too!

If burger battles aren’t your style, a full-on veggie war will erupt on Saturday (11/5) as Jeremy Scullin, Derek Sarno, Guillermo Concha, and Jeff Maxfield will fight it out to see who reigns supreme in the world of veggies.

“Activ”ities

For those of you looking for a little more activity from your festival, or maybe just looking for a way to work off some of the delicious food you’ve eaten, the Seed Food and Wine Festival offers up great opportunities to get you moving.

The most exciting opportunity to get moving at the festival is the Seed 5k Run, Yoga, and Meditation on Saturday (11/5). As you may have guessed from the name, this event includes a beautiful morning run through the streets of Miami, followed by some great yoga, and ends with a guided meditation.

Family-Friendly Fun

The Seed Food And Wine Festival is kid-friendly! Kids will have the opportunity to participate in fun and educational activities at the Sprout Kids Day on Sunday (11/6). From planting their own gardens, making their own lunches, and decorating their own vegan cupcakes, your kids are sure to have a blast. There’s even a yoga program designed specifically for them!

While the kiddos are doing their thing, you can relax in the lounge while you sip and snack.

So what are you waiting for? Mark this on your calendar in permanent marker, and head on over to their website http://www.seedfoodandwine.com/ for tickets, a full list of events, and all the information you’ll need to plan your trip!
