In an effort to partner with plant-based brands that I believe in, I have proudly partnered with Aleavia for this post, which means I have been compensated. All opinions are my own.
When I first heard the words “plant-based prebiotic skin care,” I wasn’t sure exactly what those words meant. In my 37 years on this planet, I have tried many different types of skin care regimes. I’ve never stuck to any one system, but I’ve tried enough of them to know that any system you use (especially anti-aging) will take anywhere from 20-30 minutes. Say it with me: “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” I need an alternative to harsh, chemically derived “beauty products” that fits my busy life as a mom.
So when Aleavia asked me to try out the two-step Aleavia plant based prebiotic skin care line, I was totally stoked. After all, by the time I get three kids to bed, I want to wash my face, brush my teeth, and lay in bed as soon as humanly possible! So I started using Aleavia at the beginning and end of each day to help purify my skin, brighten its complexion and accelerate the growth and repair.
Why Does Prebiotic Skin Care Work vs Traditional Skin Care?
Now as I said, I had come from a more traditional skin care regime (cleanse, tone, moisturize) so I was skeptical that I could get as much benefit from this two step process. (My current routine even added in a few extra steps, making it a five step process.) But I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, clear and hydrated my skin felt after using Aleavia’s two most popular products: Aleavia’s Purifying Facial Cleanse and Aleavia’s Clear Facial Mist. The secret to cutting my facial skincare routine in half was definitely the prebiotics. Prebiotic skincare allows the body to balance itself by naturally cleansing and supporting new cell development.
The same way your gut is filled with good and bad bacteria, so is your skin. And being the largest organ in the body, it’s time we started feeding our skin the same plant-based nutrients and prebiotics we try and eat everyday! We’ve known for a long time that probiotics can help to rebalance a system that is overgrown with bad bacteria…but what good is taking all those probiotics (probos as we call them in our house) if they have nothing to thrive off of once they’re in our system. Well that’s what prebiotics are for! And the fact that this facewash is armed with prebiotics, means that after you wash, your face is perfectly balanced to receive hydration…a step we used to need a toner for. Just like that I was able to shorten my routine and get awesome results.
What’s In The Aleavia Plant-Based Prebiotic Skin Care Products?
Aleavia’s Purifying Facial Cleanser and Prebiotic Clear Facial Mist are made with ultra-pure and organic ingredients from the earth and the ocean that calm and sooth blemish-prone skin. Along with the system being simple in number of steps, it’s also simple in number of ingredients! Between the Purifying Facial Cleanse and the Clear Facial Mist, there are only eight total ingredients: Filtered Water, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera Powder, Dead Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Plant Glycerine, Acadian Sea Kelp and Soy Lecithin. In a time when we are all reading labels very carefully, it’s refreshing to know that Aleavia’s products are always free from artificial fragrances, dyes, sulfates and parabens.
As if that’s not enough, I have to give a shoutout to how well this face wash cleans makeup off of my face…especially eye makeup. As a performer, eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara are things I wear daily, and LOTS of it. This face wash takes most of it completely off and I don’t have to go in for extra detail work with a special eye makeup remover. It’s quite remarkable actually.
Skin Conditions Known To Benefit From Aleavia Prebiotic Care Include:
- Dry Skin
- Premature Aging
These products are great for so many reasons! They’re simple and fast to use, but even more, they are made from ingredients that come straight from the Earth. We often think of nourishing the inside of our bodies through the healthy foods we eat…but we sometimes forget that our skin needs the same care. The use of plants, prebiotics, and the elements of the Earth makes these products a must for your skin care needs.
