Dr. Alona Pulde’s career began at a very young age, when her father brought home a play medical kit. From that young age and throughout her school years, she volunteered at local hospitals and grew to love helping people. She started off in studying Eastern medicine (acupuncture, herbal medicine) and then had a realization from one of her mentors that she needed to learn Western medicine as well, so she went back to medical school. This is where she realized that our medical system and education system was broken. She saw countless patients being prescribed constant pills and procedures that never really solved the problem. It was near this time that Dr. Pulde met her husband, Dr. Matt Lederman, and began to study nutrition and lifestyle medicine. Today, Dr. Pulde focuses on helping treat diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease through a plant-based diet by using the power of food as medicine.

In 2010, Matt and Alona became Global Medical Executives with Whole Foods Market. She also works very closely with the Whole Kids Foundation to write articles and contribute to getting more whole foods into the school system. Listen in to learn more about how she got started, what fast food does to your body, and how you can focus on getting to “plant perfect” in your life.
